Redcar Blast Furnace.
61.1 x 91.4cm Acrylic on canvas.
This painting is of the Redcar Blast Furnace in the 1990s following one of its relining’s when there was still a belief in the production of steel on Teesside. Alas that was not to be because this blast furnace closed in November 2015 signalling the end of over 170 years of iron and steel production on Teesside.
